Natural Candle Company

It started with a fabulous Christmas with lots of brightly-lit candles...

...then trying to get rid of the soot-grey residue which had turned Dutch gold walls into a sludgy yellow. Realising we must be breathing this soot into our lungs too, was enough for us to decide that making our own natural candles was the way to go. Others were interested and appreciative so we decided to share our new passion.

Soya is a beautiful product to work with, clean and naturally sweet smelling. Unlike paraffin candles, it doesn't need high temperatures in order to melt so produces very little soot - and it burns for longer too. Our current wax source is the US, the greatest producer of soybean wax without resorting to unsustainable deforestation as many other producers do in other parts of the world. Our source uses pesticide and herbicide-free soybeans - but we have our eye on potential producers a little closer to home so as to reduce our carbon footprint where possible.

We produce our candles in reclaimed, vintage containers which we sell mostly at craft fairs, as well as 150gm (35 hour) candle tins and 75gm (16 hour) travel candles and tea lights. We also produce decorated creamy pillar candles in various sizes, particularly around Chrtistmas.

Each candle bears our little silver or gold applique heart 'signature'.
